Since when he was a boy, enjoyed designing and building models, particularly of aircraft but occasionally also of boats, both static and dynamic.
Aircraft
Since 1985 he and his son Alessandro worked together on many modelling projects. He designed several radio controlled aircraft models, driven by propeller, ducted fan and turbojet engines. The drawings of some of them were published in international magazines.
In 2008-2010 was faculty advisor to the student group 'Polito-FLYTEAM' who realized a twin-turbines model of the XB70
